Biography

Father Anthony (Tony) Leonard was born on the 14th April 1925 and was ordained at Ushaw on 24th July 1949. After ordination he served as assistant priest at St. Peter's, Low Fell, Gateshead. He joined the Royal Air Force as chaplain in August 1959 and remained until his retirement in 1975. Thereafter he became chaplain to the Ursulines of Jesus at Longridge Towers; after his departure he was chaplain to the La Sargesse Sisters at Shoreston Hall for his last eight years. He died on the 11th November 1991.
The artefacts in this collection have been transferred to Ushaw's object store.
