Standard Tuckett binding, mid 19th century full brown calf over thick wooden boards (Charles Tuckett, binder to the British Museum, rebound many Durham manuscripts in the 19th century)

One of the books given by Hugh de Puiset to Durham Priory.
Inscriptions: “liber Hugonis Episcopi”; “Leuiticus Glosatus”, later 12th century, f.2r, top. “Liber Sanctj Cuthbertj.”, 12th/13th century “de Dunelm” added below it, 13th century, f.2r, top. “.D.” or “.G.”, later 14th century, f.2r. “.D.” later 14th century, altered to “.G.”, f.3r, outer margin, top. “Leuiticus glos.”, early 15th century; “In le splendement”, 14th/15th century added by Thomas Swalwell, monk of Durham c.1483-1539, f.3r, upper margin.
