Virgules in red. Text-capitals lined with red. Paraphs, in the form of the angular paragraphus, in red. Initials, to chapters, 2-line, red.
Written in France (rubricated in England?), 14th century.
Flyleaves in Shelfmark of source: Bamburgh Z.V.47 - Erasmus, Apophthegmatum ex optimis utriusq. linguae scriptoribus per Des. Erasmum Roterodamum collectorum libri octo. ( [Lugduni] : apud Seb. Gryphium Lugduni, 1556), bound in calf, covers with blind fillets, 17th century, with ownership inscriptions of Joannes Maplisdenus, James Chambers, Rowland Evenwood (later 16th century), and John Shakespeare (early 17th century).
