Layout

No pricking or ruling visible. 19+ lines, occupying 123 mm in height, each 75-80+ mm long.

Script

Written in textura

Decoration

Text capitals lined with red. Paraphs red. Initials to every lection, 2-line, blue with red infilling and flourishing.

Written in England, 15th century.

Provenance

Former cover of Shelfmark of source: SB 2132 (Routh LXIX.H.25) - Gratarolus, The Castel of Memorie (London: By Rouland Hall ..., 1563), with “Matt Phillips Sept. 21 1776” on what was the outside of the back cover, now lower part of recto, also printed Routh collection spine-labels; presumably removed in 1926. Portfolio I/21a (see Catalogue of fragments, manuscript and printed, amongst Durham University Library Archives and Special Collections).
