Condition of manuscriptSome inking and colour gone on one side of each piece through pasting down.
Layout

No pricking visible. Ruled in faint fine pale brown. Written space 173 or 178 mm high. 32 and 33 lines.

Written in rotunda

Decoration

Paraphs, of two kinds (angular paragraphus, and rounded capitulum), in red or blue, probably alternately. Initials, 2-line, in red or blue.

Creation

Written in Italy or Southern France, later 14th century.

Provenance

Former pastedowns, with the marks of three bands, from an unidentified book. Portfolio I/26 (see Catalogue of fragments, manuscript and printed, amongst Durham University Library Archives and Special Collections).

Verses on the length of vowels with different letters (Thebaldus of Piacenza, Regula splendescit quia sillaba prima patescit ?). An interlinear gloss gives example words.
