Miss Margery Durant's Sikorsky Amphibian biplane, “Silver Wings”, probably at Khartoum
Note: Margery Durant (1887-1969), daughter of the founder of General Motors,in 1931 had her aircraft transported across the Atlantic aboard the ocean liner S.S. Hamburg. She was flown by Charles Lajotte extensively throughout Europe and Africa during 1931 and 1932 in a Sikorsky amphibian, an S-38, powered by two Wasps. It was a ten- seater, but had been re-fitted for half that number. They stopped at Wadi Halfa, Khartoum, Malakal and Juba en route from Cairo to Kampala.
