Pricking in outer margin of (a). Written space approximately 230 mm high [x 170 mm wide, assuming two columns of equal width]. No ruling discernible. 2 columns.
Written in small current left-leaning anglicana with guide-letters for initials, and 3 headings in different hands.

Former hinge-strips, stained by turn-ins of brown covering, from an unidentified book in the University Library in the early 20th century. Portfolio I/9 (see Catalogue of fragments, manuscript and printed, amongst Durham University Library Archives and Special Collections).
Two pieces, each with an almost complete column of text: (a) 60 lines, with 3 lines of heading added in upper margin, (b) 56+ lines with lower margin, part about nunneries. Authorities cited include Pope Boniface VIII (1294-1303).
