Accession details:
The following two items were formerly the property of Gen. C.G. Gordon and were given by him to his sister, Miss M.A. Gordon. On her death they passed to another sister, Helen Clarke Moffitt who in turn gave them to Sir Henry Acland, grandfather
of Acland. Sir Henry Acland was Regius Professor of Medicine at Oxford and for a time was personal physician to Edward VII when he was Prince of Wales. He was a personal friend of Sir Reginald Wingate and treasurer of the Khartoum Cathedral fund
