Album of photographs covering military action at Suakin, at that time an Egyptian enclave which had been under intermittent siege since 1883. In Dec 1888 the forces of `Uthman Diqnah took part in an ill-fated attack on Suakin, the decisive action
taking place at Gemaizah, just outside the Suakin defences:
