Correspondence concerning the erection of a memorial tablet in the west cloister walk of Westminster Abbey to commemorate the work of the British in the Sudan. Letters cover the whole project from its inception until the service of commemoration on 8 Mar 1960 and beyond and include requests for donations, reactions to the proposal, invitations to the service with replies and letters of thanks.
