Justice Africa was founded in 1999 by Alex de Waal, Tajudeen Abdul-Raheem and Yohannes Ajawin as an advocacy organisation and research institute campaigning for human rights and social justice across Africa. Its work includes conferences, media work, publications, engagement with policy makers, and initiating and supporting civil society activities. Its geographical focus is chiefly in Sudan, Ethiopia and Somalia.
