Layout

No pricking or ruling visible. 59+ lines occupying 261 mm survive; 2 columns, the outer 83 mm wide, separated from inner column by 10 mm.

Written in textura

Decoration

Paraphs to subsections, alternately blue (washed out) or red. Initial, to chapter, 2-line I, blue (washed out) with red flourishing, English, not before 1380.

Creation

Written in England, 14/15th century.

Provenance

Former flyleaves, with stains of turn-ins of brown covering on both versos, from an unidentified book. Portfolio I/20a-b (see Catalogue of fragments, manuscript and printed, amongst Durham University Library Archives and Special Collections).

The section beginning near the top of the first column on the recto is 10:19-11:1; that beginning near the foot of the first column on the verso is 11:2-4, with an original marginal note “capitulum 129”.
